Community Building Department

The Community Building Department is part of the Technical Administration and is responsible for planning, streets, parks, geodata, as well as land and development issues. Half of the 22 employees in the Community Building Department are park workers in the park unit. As a park worker with us, you will have a varied and meaningful job where you contribute to creating pleasant outdoor environments for the municipality's residents. JOB DESCRIPTION

The park unit manages the municipality's public spaces. This includes planning, operation, and maintenance of the municipality's parks, green areas, playgrounds, bathing areas, streets, and nearby forests.

The position includes all tasks within the operation, such as tree care, maintenance of plantings, lawn mowing, trimming, chainsaw and brushcutter operation, tractor and machine driving, repair of park equipment, and other tasks related to park maintenance. The work also includes simpler operational measures for the street side and cleaning in the form of litter picking, cleaning, sand collection, snow shoveling, etc.

In addition to the above, the position has a driving and coordinating role for operational issues within streets and parks, in close dialogue with team leaders and the organization. The work involves initiating, ordering, following up, and developing routines for, among other things, roadside mowing, pothole repair, line painting, gravel road maintenance, and inventory in a GIS environment.

On-call duty may be included in the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

• You have relevant education in the industry equivalent to post-secondary horticultural education.
• Driver's license with at least a B category
• Good general computer skills to manage task descriptions, time reporting, and digital tools. Digital tools refer to the Office suite and the municipality's mapping system, which you are expected to work independently in after internal training and guidance.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience operating green area machinery and knowledge of equipment
• Previous experience in the green area industry with similar tasks
